Blue Ghost's successful landing is the first commercial soft landing on the lunar surface in history. The lander touched down within 100 meters of its target next to the volcanic feature Mons Latreille in Mare Crisium.

The Next Generation of Interstellar Messages

The ASPIRE One Record, represents one of the most comprehensive time capsules of human civilization sent to space. The analog and digital archive, consisting of 1GB of carefully curated content, is now permanently situated on the lunar surface where it could potentially remain intact for thousands of years.

Interstellar Foundation's mission draws inspiration from previous efforts like the Voyager Golden Record created by Carl Sagan and colleagues in the 1970s. However, modern technology and considerations has allowed for a vastly expanded representative library and more sophisticated preservation methods.

Looking Forward

The Firefly Blue Ghost lander will continue operations on the lunar surface for at least the next 14 days (equivalent to one lunar day). While the lander's systems will eventually cease functioning, the ASPIRE One Record is designed to remain intact far into the future.

Interstellar Foundation continues to work on future messaging projects, including potential missions to asteroids and eventually interstellar destinations. Our organization also focuses on global educational initiatives that use space messaging as a way to inspire interest in science, culture, and our shared human heritage.
